2025-05-17 03:17:10

Zoho Books continues to evolve rapidly to meet the growing compliance and automation needs of Indian businesses. The April 2025 update pack introduces powerful new features that enhance usability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency—especially for those managing payables, inventory, and GST obligations. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new in Zoho Books this month for Indian users: 1. BillPay Add-on – Smarter Payables Management Managing accounts payable just got a major upgrade. With the newly introduced Zoho BillPay Add-on, businesses can now: - Onboard new vendors easily - Set up vendor approval workflows - Match purchase orders with bills - Reconcile bill payments - Process batch payments efficiently This add-on is ideal for businesses that handle high volumes of vendor transactions and want to maintain control, accuracy, and speed in their payables cycle. 2. Manage TCS Rates from Settings Zoho Books has now introduced an Income TCS Rates page under Settings > Direct Taxes. What you can now do: - Create new TCS rates - Edit or delete existing rates - Mark a rate as inactive when not in use - View and manage applicable TCS rates for specific transactions This update helps businesses stay compliant with TCS requirements, especially for those dealing with large-value sales. 3. Download Self-Invoice under Reverse Charge If you're a GST-registered buyer and purchase goods or services from an unregistered vendor under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM), Zoho Books now allows you to print a self-invoice directly from the platform. Why this matters: - Fulfills GST compliance requirements - Enables accurate RCM documentation - Simplifies internal audit and filing processes This feature is particularly helpful for service-based businesses dealing with freelancers or small vendors not registered under GST. 4. New GSTR-7 Report for TDS under GST For users who have enabled GST TDS, Zoho Books now offers a dedicated GSTR-7 report. Key Highlights: - Shows GST TDS applied on bills and their corresponding payments - Grouped by vendor’s GSTIN by default - Can be filtered by location or branch - Access to this report can be restricted through user roles & permissions Important: This report only includes bills with recorded GST TDS payments, ensuring accuracy during GSTR-7 filing. 5. View Stock Status While Creating Transactions Inventory management gets more transparent. Now, while creating a sales or purchase transaction, you can view stock details for each item, including: - Stock on Hand - Available for Sale - You can toggle between these views based on what information is most relevant for your transaction. This provides real-time clarity and prevents over-promising or under-stocking items. Final Thoughts The April 2025 updates in Zoho Books show a strong commitment toward enhancing user control, simplifying compliance, and improving operational visibility. Whether you're a growing MSME, a freelance accountant, or a CA managing client accounts—these features help you stay ahead of regulatory and business needs.
